Whale and dolphin watching
in Tenerife
Feel the thrill of seeing whales and dolphins in their natural habitat with some of the most complete boat trips in Tenerife.
Why is Tenerife so special
for whale watching?
The channel between Tenerife and La Gomera,
one of the best in the world
The warm, deep waters off southwest Tenerife are home to stable populations of short-finned pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins all year round. Depending on the season, sperm whales, Bryde’s whales and Atlantic spotted dolphins may also be seen.
Most trips depart from Puerto Colón, in Costa Adeje, and from Los Gigantes. Thanks to Tenerife’s mild climate and generally calm sea conditions, whale and dolphin watching is possible at any time of year.

Responsible whale watching
We practise marine tourism with care and responsibility. This experience exists because we respect the animals we encounter.
Responsible behaviour and low-impact navigation
All our boats carry the Blue Flag and follow the Canary Islands regulations for cetacean protection. We keep a respectful distance, limit the number of boats in the area and avoid manoeuvres that could disturb the animals. We are also part of the Tenerife Tourism Quality Charter.
Guides specialised in marine biology
Our team will share information about the species you may see and the measures needed to protect them. We actively support marine conservation by collecting floating rubbish whenever possible and by using more sustainable materials in our on-board catering service.
Species you may see
The Tenerife channel is one of the world’s best places for year-round cetacean sightings. These are the species most commonly seen on our trips.
Tips to prepare for your trip
Book in advance
Especially during high season or at weekends. Groups are small and spaces sell out quickly. Booking early helps secure your preferred date and experience.
Sun protection and comfort
Bring a cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear comfortable clothing and swimwear if you plan to swim. A light jacket is useful for the return trip when the sea breeze picks up.
Towel and suitable footwear
If your trip includes a swim stop in Masca or open waters, bring a towel and water shoes. Trainers or non-slip sandals are useful on deck.
Avoid heavy meals before boarding
Avoid alcohol and heavy meals in the hours before departure. If you are prone to seasickness, speak to your doctor about preventive medication and take it in advance.
Arrive 15 minutes early
The meeting point is at Puerto Colón harbour, in Costa Adeje. Arriving a little early makes boarding smoother and gives you time for the safety briefing.
Respect the animals
During the sighting, avoid sudden movements and keep your voice low. Our guides will explain the best way to observe whales and dolphins without disturbing them.

Everything you need to know before booking
The most common questions about our whale and dolphin watching trips in Tenerife.
Is whale and dolphin watching in Tenerife guaranteed?
The channel between Tenerife and La Gomera is home to resident colonies of short-finned pilot whales all year round. Our sighting rate is over 99%. In the very rare event that no cetaceans are seen, you can repeat the trip at no extra cost.
How many people can the boat take?
Our trips are limited to a maximum of 10 guests. This is what sets us apart from mass tours: every passenger has space, quiet and direct access to the deck for watching the animals. On a private charter, the whole boat is reserved only for your group.
Where do the trips depart from?
All our trips depart from Puerto Colón harbour, in Costa Adeje, in the south of Tenerife. It is one of the most accessible harbours on the island, just a few minutes from the main hotel areas in Adeje, Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos.
Are the trips suitable for children?
Yes. The sailing boat moves more gently than a motorboat, which makes the experience more comfortable for children. We welcome children from 3 years old. If anyone in the group is prone to seasickness, we recommend speaking to a doctor about preventive medication before departure and avoiding heavy meals.
What is included in the trip price?
All trips include premium on-board catering, with appetisers, fresh fruit, a main dish and drinks throughout the experience, as well as life jackets, navigation insurance and a guide specialised in marine biology. There are no hidden costs. IGIC, the 7% Canary Islands tax, is included in the final price.
How does cancellation work?
We accept free cancellations up to 48 hours before departure. If adverse weather conditions prevent safe navigation, the trip will be rescheduled or fully refunded. Passenger safety is always our first priority.
What is the difference between a shared trip and a private charter?
On shared trips, the sailing boat may carry up to 10 guests who do not know each other, making the experience more affordable. On a private charter, the whole boat is reserved only for your group: you define the itinerary with the captain, enjoy total privacy and receive a fully personalised service.
How can I check availability?
Availability should always be checked before booking. You can call us on +34 654 615 701 or send us a message via WhatsApp. We usually reply in less than an hour and confirm your place straight away.
